LAUNDROMAT FIRE

UPDATE: The fire was in the ceiling of the laundromat. The laundromat has three ceilings: a drop ceiling made of acoustical tiles, a sheetrock ceiling above it, and a tin ceiling above that.

A fire burned today in the late afternoon inside the first-floor laundromat in a brick, two-story, mixed occupancy building at 423 Church Avenue, at the corner of E. 5th Street. Church Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic from E. 5th Street to E. 4th Street.
