MORE TRANSPORTATION UPDATES AFTER HURRICANE SANDY


Subway: A map showing subway service for Thursday, November 1st is at  http://www.scribd.com/doc/111722617/MTA-Subway-Map-for-Thursday.

Local buses: All local Brooklyn bus lines have resumed with limited service, except for the B100 bus. Allow extra time for delays, detours, and crowding.

Express buses: The BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4, and BM5 express buses are rolling again but are offering limited service. Some detours may be necessary because of road conditions.

Shuttle buses: Shuttle buses will operate
from
  • Jay Street-MetroTech,
  • Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn, and
  • Hewes Street in Williamsburg
to
  • 57th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan via 3rd Avenue.

Free travel: All fares will be waived on Thursday and Friday on the MTA's subways, and buses, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad and on Access-a-Ride.

Driving: A minimum of three people must be in a car in order to cross the Williamsburg, Queensboro, Manhattan, RFK, and Brooklyn bridges on Thursday and Friday.
