G TRAIN BACK IN SERVICE

The G train is back in service as of this morning. It's running the full distance of its route from the Court Square Station to the Church Avenue Station. Each train has eight cars; four cars have been added per train to the usual four. Trains are running twelve minutes apart rather than the usual eight.

Big delays can be expected because of repair work being done on communications and signal equipment inside the Greenpoint tube that runs under Newtown Creek. Trains are only traveling ten miles per hour inside the tube.
