"FIGHTING FOR OUR SCHOOLS--FROM CHICAGO TO NEW YORK"

"Fighting for Our Schools--from Chicago to New York"
Thursday, September 20th, 7:30 p.m.

Occupy Kensington invites its neighbors to a public meeting to discuss the strike by the Chicago Teachers Union, now in its second week, "and its potential impact on the battle for public education nationally."

Tom Crean will introduce the discussion. Mr. Crean is a United Federation of Teachers Chapter Leader in Brooklyn and a resident of Kensington. He comes from a family of Chicago teachers. Mr. Crean wrote "Save Our Schools: The Fight to Defeat the Corporate Attack on Public Education," a pamphlet that describes "the corporate ideology behind the bipartisan national attack on public education under the guise of reform and points to how to build a fightback."

The meeting will be held at 309 E. 5th Street, between Albemarle Road and Church Avenue.
