SELFHELP COMMUNITY SERVICES GETS FINANCIAL HELP

Kensington's Selfhelp Community Services received $5,000 today from the Brooklyn Community Foundation's (BCF) Caring Neighbors Fund. Time Warner Cable gifted the money to BCF to disperse to Brooklyn organizations for programs that help senior citizens maintain their independence and live at home for as long as possible in a safe, stable environment and that address such concerns as social isolation and deteriorating health.

Selfhelp Community Services' programs
enable the elderly and other at-risk populations to live in their own homes, independently and with dignity. They'll use the funds for their Chore Services for Brooklyn Elderly program for frail low-income seniors.
