TONIGHT'S MEETING ABOUT THE SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Many residents who attended the meeting at the Holy Name Parish voiced concern about how much is being done to keep women safe.
The deputy commander of the 72nd Precinct spoke candidly about the department's efforts to catch the suspects and reassured everyone that they've ramped up the number of officers on the streets, including adding more in plain clothes.

At a safety meeting Tuesday night, police showed a new sketch of a man believed to be behind at least one of the 10 sexual assaults.
Police said most of the incidents occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 4 a.m., usually on a Friday or Saturday. Most of the victims were petite women between the ages of 21 and 32.
More officers have been deployed on the streets.

Local officials held another public meeting Tuesday, a chance to tell residents that the number of assaults linked to the two men in the sketches is now up to ten, to listen to ways they can improve their patrols, and to emphasize that the police probably can't catch the two men alone.
