BEWARE OF DOG-WATCHING SCAM

Several neighbors have had a man, accompanied by a dog, come to their door claiming that he lives in the neighborhood, has locked himself out of his house (with his wallet in it), and needs someone to watch his dog so he can take a cab to Staten Island to get his house key from his sister---and he needs to borrow money from them for the cab. The man is familiar with the neighborhood and says that his children attend PS 230. One of the potential victims of the scam lives at Beverley Road and E. 3rd Street. If you get a visit from the man, report it to the police.
